Wild about our wonderful Wild Coast

In line with our 2020/21 Annual Operational Plan, ECPTA recently concluded a partnership agreement with the Southern Africa Tourism Services Association (SATSA) that lifted the veil on the Eastern Cape’s stunningly beautiful Wild Coast region.

The virtual familiarisation tour was conducted via Zoom, with equal focus on accommodation options and available activities.

Product owners were selected on a first come, first served basis, aligned to the brand pillars of adventure, culture, wide open spaces and coastal activities, and included participants from across the region, from Chintsa to Coffee bay and Port St Johns.

SATSA confirmed that 109 buyers registered for the session.

All product presentations were recorded, and a digital brochure detailing each participating product owners’ profile and key contact details was distributed to all buyers who registered.

In response to suggestions to include an interactive element as part of the product presentations, the ECPTA included a competition element where one lucky trade partner could win a trip to the Wild Coast region of the Eastern Cape, valued at R35 000.

Through a partnership with various Wild Coast products, ECPTA was able to offer a 10-night stay on the Eastern Cape Wild Coast for two persons including return airfares and a hired vehicle. The prizes were sponsored by Buccanneers Backpackers, Trennerys Hotel, Bulungula Backpackers, Ocean View Hotel, Coffee Shack Backpackers and Offshore Port St Johns.

Sharon Kemp of New Frontiers was the competition winner and took up her prize between 28 November and 8 December.
