The Tourism Industry Covid-19 Survey

A comprehensive tourism industry COVID-19 survey to quantify the extent of the impact of COVID-19, measure how effective support has been, and determine what kind of help is still required is underway. The survey, a collaboration between the Department of Tourism, TBCSA and all its member associations and the IFC, will be conducted three times over 12 months to track progress.

1610 respondents contributed to the recovery of the tourism industry by completing the first survey. The results were presented to the Portfolio Committee on Tourism and the Select Committee on Trade and Industry, Economic Development, Small Business Development, Tourism, Employment and Labour on 4 May. The insights gained will be used to inform the design of effective policy and support to the tourism industry. Key findings have already been published on the partner’s platforms.
