ECPTA returns to in-person destination marketing

While most of our marketing activities have been virtual and online over the past few months, ECPTA made a welcome return to in-person promotion of our Province during November by attending the Welcome Back Exhibition in the Baakens Valley, Port Elizabeth.

ECPTA partnered with expo organisers, PeriExpo, to create brand exposure for the Province and to get back into being present, with strict adherence to all COVID-19 safety protocols, at a physical tourism exhibition.

Our partnership with PeriExpo included a booth to showcase the agency, ECPTA’s logo on all promotional material as well as on the facia names of all exhibitors. Consequently, the brand received excellent exposure through in-person attendance as well as extensive media coverage.

ECPTA subsidised expo stands for all exhibitors and also assisted with costs related to security, health and safety compliance and subsistence for participating artists and musicians.

The newly updated Eastern Cape Map and the Nature Reserve Destination Guides were distributed, along with regional brochure information.

Most visitors to the stand were local accommodation service providers and Port Elizabeth-based tour operators and tour guides looking for updated tourism information to distribute to their clients. In addition, a number of consumers were interested in receiving information on caravan, camping and self-catering sites as well as information on hiking trails.

Exhibitors represented a range of experiences, and were drawn from across the province, including Addo, Tsitsikamma, Somerset East and Coffee Bay and Port St Johns.
